DNA has been received at Animal Genetics and will take 3 - 5 business days to be completed to determ
All puppies will have DNA done at 5 weeks old to find out which of Koodo or Attila are the father. The first pick puppy is going to a breeder so all females will be tested for DM, none will be affected as Ripley is clear. Koodo and Attila are carriers, also not affected. The DNA samples were sent May 25th but will not be to the lab until June 1st (hoping the border will not hold the samples up). It then takes a week for results to be available.
Since Koodo has never had a long haired puppy he and Attila (his son) are suspected not to be carriers of the long haired gene - so all these puppies will be short haired. Some may be carriers but none will have long hair.
